Peavey Classic is great for that. Metal with an overdrive, doesnt get really heavy by itself. Try one out if you can

Eh im in Singapore >_< so yea currency in SGD but 450-550 would be USD.. i can spare up to 850 SGD. I'd love a valveking btw.. but they dont stock here T_T.

Try an Orange Tiny Terror if it is within your budget - awesome amp and great for Classic, Hard Rock and you can get metal out of it.

The head and cab might be more than you can spend but i think the combo version is about to come out so you could check that out.
