I didn't mean SG standard, I meant faded specials. I just checked your profile and you have a black SG dont you?

From the reviews I've read in magazines (so written by people who know their sh*t), they are very fine guitars, only slightly different from Standard SG's but still a lot better than what Epiphone offers.
I played one myself half a year ago and had the same impression. Granted that you have to watch out for bad eggs in this price range though, but usually you should be fine with such an SG. I'd pick it over any Epiphone (especially because of the Epi stock pu's *shudders*), though I know some people like Epiphone Elitist series guitars better.

The only thing I don't like about it is it's look - but hey, that's purely subjective anyway.

Just play it before you buy it. I've got one, had it set up, and EMGs put in it. It now sounds and feels better than guitars two or three times its price
Gibson.
