Edwards AL-128 from Ishibashi
Peavey Valveking Half Stack

I'll be playing mostly metal but also other faster genres with heavy distortion. What would be a decent pedal, if any, for my setup?

Do you really need a half stack? Are you gigging?

Yup.

Sounds good then.. look for other amps in the price range though, because some people are skeptical about the Valveking's ability to do metal. I don't know anything about the guitar, but it's fine as long as it feels good to you.

Thanks, I love the shape of it! Haven't played the edwards but I have played the RR. The only other amp I can think of in that price range is the Windsor and that seems like it wouldn't be that good for metal.

what about a 5150 instead? if you go used it's probably a similar price to the VK...
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Woah thanks man. I always thought they were way out of my price range but I'm finding em for about a grand or cheaper. I'm working like all summer but I'll eventually be able to buy it.

For what you do the 5150 is a much better option.
