^Sure, but that neck up there hasn't really been dirtied up... To get that "effect" you literally only need sandpaper.

edit: I see you got that from K-Line... I'm wondering why someone who claims to put a lot of thought into relicing would think "Mmyes, this is what a reasonably played-in neck looks like"... Such consistent wear? No way... No dirt to speak of? Nah... Almost no wear near the lower-fret end of the neck? Sure, why not?...

Agreed. The point of a relic is to replicate common wear patterns in an effort to make the guitar appear to be aged. What you're talking about is stripping the back of a neck and making it dirty. That's not relicing, it's just disgusting.
