I recently acquired a new bass amp, Jansen Invader 150.

Anyway, the amp is second hand, & the guy I bought it off said he disconnected the "tweeter" because it was making a crackling noise. But when I played the amp it sounded great, & it was a steal for 150$

Anyway, I started thinking "What the hell IS a tweeter?"

So I have a few questions.

1. What is a Tweeter?/What does it do?
2. How much would it affect the sound if i replaced the old tweeter?
3. How much does a new tweeter cost?/where could I get one?

Preemptive thanks.

A tweeter is a small speaker which normally only handles the high frequencies.
I really see no point in using tweeters in bass amps, and I've never seen any bass cabs that have tweeters

I don't need it per say, but if it was to improve the sound I would prefer to fix it, the high end on my amp can be a bit weak, so i think I might still fix it. Thanks for the help guys, how are they wired & how much would one cost?

I'm not familiar with the amp, but if he just disconnected the tweeter it's probably still in there with the wires removed from it. Should be easy enough to figure out how it gets wired back up.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.
