Is it weird that sometimes I feel as I warm up or practice a lick, that my picking (particularly alt. picking with stuff like Speed Kills) actually gets worse and more sloppy? Ill try to get some beginning and end of practice pics of my picking once I get home from school.

Well, if you're practicing for long periods of time without any rest, it would make sense. But make sure you're picking without excess tension. My guess is that you tense up and wear out your muscles.

that sounds right to me. I had the same problem when i was first starting. I would just tense up hella when it came to playing fast tremolo picked sections and what not. Got wore out quickstyle.

Practice playing slow and making sure your relaxed, and your holding the pick correctly, and then slowly build up speed.
