It is a mathematical problem that proves i could be a better guitar player than Jimi Hendrix

a2+a2=a2+ab

2a2-2ab=a2+ab-2ab

2a2-2ab=a2-ab

2(a2-ab)=1(a2-ab) the parenthesisses are deleted and...

2=1

so if 2=1 i can beat Jimi as well

in the second line, you cant just add ab unless B=2, which then in the second to last line both would be multiplied by 0, thus giving 0=0, which is true

I've seen this before, and the reason it works, is because you set a=b. This could be setting 6=5, not the end part, the initial a=b, and that would be why it works. You can't really prove that a=b with this problem, and therefore the validity of the equation is false.

The reason it does not work is because you divide by zero in one of the steps...

You treat A and B as mutually exclusive variables when in fact, the first line states they are the same so you cannot do that. Breaks the equation.

Yea, you can't just add a random number to one side without adding it another. Plus, the second line makes no sense

If you were going to do that it would be

a=b

2a=2b

2a + 2a = 2b + 2a

ab + 4a = 2b + 2a + ab

Fail

The only way this could be true is if a and b were equal, so a=a or 1=1

a=b means a and b are the same number, or the absolute values of the same number.... so basically you suck at math

The error is in the third line, where you add -2a^2. This causes 0=0, any math from there is flawed.
