Whats the best high gain tube amp out there right now for stuff like Machine Head, COB and Megadeth sounds? I have an ESP RZK-1 right now, and my 15W Kustom amp is not cutting it. Budget is at max $600. Thanks for the help guys.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Randal RG50TC, upgraded Valveking, Cube 60, Anything Bugera, used 5150 or 6505, perhaps a used XXX if you're lucky, mabye an F-30 or F-50 combo.

Do you gig? Jam with a band? Carry your own gear?

Bugera 6262 combo
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Not so many gigs, just mostly jamming with my band. And Bugeras are nearly impossible to get where i live in. Even Peaveys and Randalls are quite hard to find.

The best high gain tube amps are:

VHT
Bogner
Diezel
ENGL
Soldano
etc.

They run upwards of $2000, some up to $3000.

For $600,

Peavey 5150 or 6505 [used]

That's about as good as it gets.

Everyone recommends Bugera, but I haven't ever played one, nor have I ever seen one on Craigslist in my area, so I will not recommend that.

Keep forgetting about the Peavey Ultra Plus... Can't be beat for the price...

Those things are monsters. I almost got one for $250 but someone got to it first.

Haven't seen one since.
