I've been trying for a long time to get a decent metalcore sound out of my boss gt-8 effects processer but have only ended up in me doing something else out of frustration every time.

Can anyone help me out with this?

If it matters, I have a marshall valvestate vs65r

just use the marshall's boost channel, or punch a hole in the speaker, it's not recomended but it should get you to the sound you're looking for.

The Valvestate should give better 'modern' distortion then most pedals/multis.

It doesn't give the "chugging" sound though.

What I mean is it's really not heavy enough,
