seinfeld theme. lol not very challenging, but it impresses people.
what a waste of a perfectly good sig.
Here's the thing...most people that don't play bass are impressed by any kind of slap and pop, even really crappy slap and pop.

So I usually just play slap bass when trying to impress someone.
It doesn't have to be the fastest, most complex thing in the world. It doesn't have to be Rush, Racer X, Wooten or anyone like that.

You could improvise or write your own solo piece, be creative here.
I just tap a gazillion notes per second, then their brains explote and after I clean my bass from skull fragments I suppose they are impressed.

No, but seriously, if you play something flashy or fast most people are impressed but most musicians will think "wanker". So it's a compromise. But if you make good music for you and yourself only nonmusicians will say "that sounds pretty" and musicians will say "that is pretty damn cool". I suppose the real way to impress is not trying to impress and playing for yourself.
u shoud play higher ground by the red hot chili peppers
its real fun 2 play and will impress people
it mite need a bit of practise though
Anything which makes them shake their butt. =/
I don't know what I'm doing, but I still do it anyway...

I play grade 6 or 8 rockschool stuff. It's kind of bland but it'll impress people who don't know any better Alternatively, if I have to make an effort then just some slap and pop or rush.
Check out 8-Bit Trip!

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

thats what i was thinking, if you have the apparent skill then you should be able to make up your own music to show your skill. Im not trying to be an ass but thats how i show my skill at least.
