Hi, I am looking for a metal guitar with a *GOOD* (official) floyd rose, or atleast a decent one that won't go out of tune when I smack the **** out of it. Don't really care about the shape, just want something with 24 frets and nice pickups (don't have to be EMGs).

For around $1000, thanks.

Search for a thread on the Jackson Demmelition. Theres a link to a site that sells one. If you like V's thats the perfect guitar for you.

$750. Thats an awesome price, my friend ordered one today.

SixString1989's referral and I second it.
I got a Jackson King V KVX10 but holy crap I'd get this instead.
They come with EMG's which is pretty good too.
Jackson Rhoads may also suit it, the RR3 is a good one.

My KE3 Kelly Jackson was about 900$ with a good Liscenced Floyd Rose in it. I have had it for almost 3 years now and i just put a Seymour Duncan 18V livewire in the bridge, and a SH-4 Invader in the neck. Sounds amazing and plays fantastic for metal.
My Equipment:

-KE3 Kelly Jackson
-Hyburn Stratocaster
-Marshall G80RCD
-Marshall AVT series 4x12" extension cab.
-Digitech Death Metal Distortion Pedal

Horizon FR-II... If you up your budget by 1300$. I suggest you play a lot of different guitars. Also try used. Save some money.

RG2550Z. Edge Pro bridge and Dim/IBZ pickups. They are very nice for stock pickups and you can change them if you don't like them anyways.

livewires are 18v? Holy crap!

I believe EMGs are 21V and to the OP I second the RR3 cheap good Guitars from what I hear..

Edit: "The pickup is rated at 27v so the mod is harmless and there are even some guitarists" So 27V, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMG_81

...or get the Blackjack ATX FR which already comes with blackouts?

But yeah I think TS you should be lookin for a Schecter. For the price the quality can't be beaten and they have Original FR's.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I love how people are suggesting the Jackson Demmelition V when hardly anybody could have possibly played it already to know how good it actually is.

I would say LTD M-1000 or MH-1000. Which one depends on if you prefer mahogany over alder (mahogany will be darker sounding), and an 81/85 set over an 81/81 set (81/85 will be a bit more versatile).
Heads will roll. Throats will be slit. Blood will flow like springs of water.

Jackson LFR's aren't bad. The Black JT580s are nice.

The Schecter Blackjack FR looks like an amazing guitar but I've never played one.
