..A new guitar.
To cut it short, my styles of music has changed, and the Epiphone Les Paul isn't suited to what I want to play. It feels uncomfortable also.

I've been looking at some ESP LTD's, as I love the feel of them.
I was thinking of getting the KH-202. Yeah, flame on. But I can guarantee you that I don't want to be like him. I just want a slimmer neck with better fret access, and if the guitar plays well, and sounds good (w/ a pup change) then I'm happy.

So is the KH a good choice? Keep in mind I've also been looking at the M series also.

So yeah, recommend away or whatever..
Ciao.

What do you have to spend? I think a decent Ibanez would be better than an ESP LTD personally
#3
I've looked at Ibanez and Jackson.
There's something about them which I don't like though to be honest..
And budget, Eh. 400 odd American dollars. Be a little more if I sell my Epiphone..
Signatures are overrated.
#4
OK, I'd save a little more (or sell the Epiphone) and buy any guitar from the 400 series
#6
Because below -400, LTD make their guitars with agathis, and at -400 or above, they're quality woods and pickups.
#8
Gotcha.
And Danno, I'm pretty sure the Kh202 is basswood.

Either way, cheap basswood is not going to give you good tone. Poor definition and sustain. Higher end basswood is great, but entry-level stuff is probably not what you're looking for here in terms of tonal quality.

Alright.
I shall look around on Ebay for some M400+ series LTD's or something..

Anyone else got some recommendations?

What style of music are you playing now? I'm assuming your main amp is that Randall.
#12
Yeah, my main amp is the randall.
And I play a lot.
Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Sum 41, and what have you.
I'm really just in need of something with great fret access and a thin neck. I hate my epiphones bulky neck..

I'm checking around right now, but could you tell me what you think your budget would be if you sold the Epi?

I have no idea.
Maybe, 700 American dollars? Mind you, I'm in Australia, so I need something that can be shipped internationally.

Sorry for double post.
But what about a Jackson DK2m in white?

Not looking to buy used.
Looking for new, from the States.

No used?
Used stuff is great!
You save so much, and find some absolute steals.
Maybe check japanese ebay if it exists :S
You should be able to get cheap Ibanez and ESP's and the shipping might be $90 rather then $140+.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

I played the K202 at my local guitar store yesterday, and its pretty damn sweet. The pickups are decent, the floyd rose on it is great and it sounded great through the amp it was plugged into (think it was a Hughes and Kettner).

The neck was excellent, all ESPs are. Just simple varnished wood, like silk to run your hand over. Didnt weigh too much, found it really easy to hold. Frets on it were great, easy to access and play. My only complaint was the certain one i was playing, the jack was breaking and so if i tilted it then it went really quiet, but otherwise, great guitar.
