I really need a new amp, especially as i've just joined a band and i only have a practice amp. My price range is about £300. I was looking at Line 6 amps but i'm not sure.

Must if they break for me, better sounds come from the way you play more-so than the strings.

Considering you're in the UK, Ashdown or Laney really are the way to go if you want a great deal on a great amp.

In that range I would look at the Ashdown MAG 300 and the Warwick Sweet 15.

And don't listen to whoever suggested a half stack or a stack. They give you far less than a combo for the money you pay, and the only advantage they offer is multiple brand combiations and gthey are generally equiped with more power. However, that comes at a much dearer price tag.
