Ok this is my last amp thread guys. Which one of these amps will do John Mayer. Hot Rod Deluxe, Blues Deluxe, or the Hot Rod Deville? They all seem like sweet amps and would get close, but which will get the closest? Thanks

Ok, but John Mayer doesn't use marshalls. He uses two rock amps which are like a few grand.

Is there any way I can talk you out of overspending for a Fender? It's not that those are "bad" amps per se. Fenders are just overpriced for what they are. Have you shopped around and looked at other amps or is your heart set on one of those Fenders?

Did Leo Fender steal your lunch money? Where do you get better cleans and blues than on a Fender for the same money?

Discount br00talz aren't for everyone.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

Lol. No, Leo Fender did not steal my lunch money. I was at the amp repair shop a year or so ago and this guy had a floor full of broken new Fender amps. It looked like a Blues Jr, Hot Rod, DeVille, solid state cemetary. Really. He proceeded to tell me what junk the new Fenders are (showed me internals-pots, welds etc) and that they are super cheaply made and totally overpriced and Fender knows it. If not for their so called "great cleans and reverb" these amps wouldn't even sell anymore. Vintage Fenders are good and worth finding, but their new tube and solid state stuff is, well, unfit for consumer purchase at their pricepoint.

Whatever wattage you get, go with the blues series.
I'd recommend the blues deluxe out of them.

Blues Deluxe or Peavey Delta Blues 115. The Blues Jr. is a decent amp, but freaks out a bit at higher volumes. If you want gigging cleans, you want at least 30W, IMHO.

In this video of John Mayer, If you look in the back of the stage and to the right, you can see two tweed amps. What amps do you think they are. And because it is a small show he is using these amps instead of his two rock amp. Oh the big one looks like a 59 tweed bassman or something.

Either one of those amps will work fine in your first post.
With 700 bucks, you can't afford a huge range of amps.
The ones that you listed in your first post are the closest as you're gonna get to John Mayer, unless you can summon up a huge budget.
Now, go out and buy one and get some pr0n up!
Call me Wes.
