How good is this for blues? I have a fender super champ xd, been thinking about returning it though, just bought it last week. i have a fender mexican hss strat and i want tones like clapton, john mayall and the bluesbreakers, stuff like that. not exactly of course, but similar enough for someone who is new to guitar to be satisfied. it is also 100 cheaper, so that would leave some more money to buy pedals and such.

It's alright. I'd rather have the Fender (nonsuper)Champ 600.

Good for you. Have a cookie.

But really... there's no cookie. And if there was, you wouldn't get one.

the champ has a 6 inch speaker, compared to this which i think has a celestion 10 inch speaker. thats what made the difference to me.

Spend more rather than less, and go with something like the Fender Pro Jr. It's a rockin' little blues machine that will give you enough power to jam and even play small gigs when you get there.

The Champ 600 is a cool amp, but it's easily the quietest of the 5W'ers. The 6" speaker is probably part of the problem.

I like the Palomino V8, but there's been some reliability issues with it.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.
