I've decided to build a guitar, yes I know, Hooray!

But I can't figure it out! I'll be making the guitar from parts bought off Warmoth, and I'll be using it for everything, Showgaze, Cleans, Math Rock etc. I cannot however, decide whether to make a doublecut Les Paul shape or a Jaguar. I'll be ordering in mid-August, hopeing to finish before September. I'll be making the other guitar at Christmas (Eg if I choose to make Doublecut first, Jag at Christmas, or vice-versa)

Here's the low-down on both guitars

Doublecut:
Carved Top Body (Paint white w. black binding)[Flame Maple Top on Mahogany]
Maple Neck
Seymour Duncan '59/JB Combo
Gotoh Tune-O-Matic Bridge
Black hardware

Jaguar:
Flat top Body (Olympic White w. tortoise pickguard) [Swamp Ash body]
Maple neck
Seymour Duncan '59/JB Combo
Gotoh Tune-O-Matic Bridge
Black hardware (May choose chrome)
(All the complicated wiring hash done away with, just 1 volume, 1 tone, 1 3-way switch.)

I've never done this before, so should I go for the easy option and do the Doublecut first, or do the Jaguar. I have a friend who's currently in a band with me (Prog Art Rock) and he's building a J Bass that's Olympic White with a Tortiose pickguard and a mple neck, so we'd be matching.
