I recently bought a new guitar on eBay and when it arrived, it smells like a pipe smoker lived in the case. They guy that sold it to me swears he is not a smoker, but as soon as I open the card board box, I smelled what smells distinctively like pipe smoke.

For the past two week, I have aired out the case, and for the most part, a lot of the smell has gone away. The guitar itself now has very little smell. I was thinking of spraying something like Fabrez into the case and getting rid of the remaining smell, but was worried that the chemicals might somehow lift the finish on the guitar.

Has any one every had issues like this and experience in getting rid of the smell?
