Alright so heres the deal...I'm looking to buy another guitar and I'm going for a les paul. My budget is about 600-700$ and I was looking towards a Les Paul studio, Alpine white. I really like the look of it..( don't judge me) although I heard that the sound wasn't very good? If it isn't, then what should? I play things that I guess could be labeled "emo", alternative, rock, hardcore, and some metalcore. Thanks

i have an epi lp custom and it plays wonderfully for these types...althought with your money i might go for a used epi elitist, if youre lucky to get one for that price

I was looking at the Gibson Les Paul Studio for a long time, but eventually ended up getting a Gibson SG Standard. Anyway, while I was looking, I realized that not every Les Paul Studio sounds the same!!! I was amazed at the discovery, that not every guitar of the same model sounds the same. I literally played hundreds of guitars before finding the one I knew I wanted to buy. I would suggest you play multiple guitars even of the same model, right down to the same color, to decide what guitar you want. When you're spending hundreds of dollars on an instrument, knowing what exactly you're buying can be a great help.

I played a Gibson LP Studio in the exact finish. It was absolutely wonderfully playing. Very very nice in my opinion.

Actually, if you can save a bit more, and not be narrow minded to choose a guitar on its finish, this is a great deal.

But they are also brand new ones on ebay that are white like I want and are cheaper

edit: sorry, I didn't see that it was Gibson.

studio doesnt sound good??? wtf is that? someone is comparing to standard les paul or better and deceiving you. compared to les paul style guitars in the price range it might not be as good but you're paying for the brand label. it's like buying an expensive wallet that charges you 1200 bucks extra cuz it says some brand on it like prada or something

BC Rich NJ Neck-Thru Series Mockingbird

Epiphone Valve Junior
Roland Microcube

You said you wanted Alpine White, so I gave a preview. As FourSticks17 posted, people love pics!

Also, with your budget, I've seen the same or similar model I posted sell for ~$700 on evilBay.

The jump from Epiphone to Gibson is quite a big one in tone difference as most people who are narrow minded automatically jump to the "name brand" argument. Just as Squier will never be as good as Fender, so goes the same mentality when it goes from Epiphone to Gibson. Someone did mention the elitist epiphone models which have excellent quality control and I would definitely recommend that over a Gibson Les Paul Studio any day.
