Looking to get a new amp around 300 GBP everyone appears to hate line 6 amps but i've seen and played a line 6 spider jam for well within this price range can anybody help me decide what to do? what other amps are worth looking into for the same price or less (£300)? thanks

I play:
yamaha pacifica (black with shiny mirrored faceplate)
15 watt crate practice amp
boss overdrive/distortion pedal
and an ibanez rg1570mrb on the way... please help!

You could try and find a used Peavey Classic 30, they're just under £400 new but you could probably get one used for £300.

TS, Roland Cube or Vox Valvetronix are probably your best bets.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

It's an 'ok' amp, it's not really that amazing.

What are you going to be playing on the amp?

mainly metal core but with the ability to play allround (rock, classic metal, good clean channel etc...)

The bandit is pretty good, but the used peavey classic is much better. With your budget you should look for a used valve amp (like the classic), they will give you a much better sound for less money.

The peavey classic will do the allround part good on it's own and with the help of your pedals (overdrive/distortion) it will do the metal core good too.

Lol

I wish i had kept my Yamaha Pacifica instead of selling it...

It was a pretty good guitar for what it was..

And yeah a Classic 30 is a good all-rounder if you can find yourself a 2nd hand one!

Maybe a Roland Microcube.
Good distortion for metalcore, doesn't give you much to edit the tones with though.
If you want an EQ then you should try and get a Roland Cube 30x.

For metalcore the Bandit is actually worth checking out - I don't like them much but they actually do two things pretty well, clear, flat cleans and nasty, scooped distortion. Unfortunately there's very little inbetween which is why I got rid of mine but it'll be worth looking at given the stuff you play.

The classic 30 is a good choice. Try some other amps in the same price range and see what you think to be sure. And there is nothing wrong with Yamaha guitars, I'll back you up there alex.

I think you could buy a new classic 30 for that, and that the classic 30 is still the best thing in your price range if you were to save up that much extra. (IMO)

this threads a bit dire 0_o

dsl401 is ok, not loved too much round here

look at a peavey valveking or a laney LC15/30

if you can resist metal, the VC series is really good for cleans/OD

+1 to classic 30
