No....if it were in America I would be, but I am not too concerned with what is happening in China to the extent of how I feel about things happening near me....

Hope that I didn't come off TOO much like an asshole...

The numbers are just ridiculous. It horrifies me, but then i've always been more interested in international news. It's definately more important than "cat fashion parade" or "house struck by lightning!" or whatever else is on look north.
Ever wonder what rock would have sounded like in 2010 if grunge hadn't made it cool to be stupid?

Not so much, but when I watched the news and they told the number of deaths, I was deeply shocked....

yeah... uhh do u realize how much of your nice little AMERICAN toys including the computer and keyboard and mouse that allowed you to write that ignorant statement come from China... and who cares where wat happens not for nothing the death toll is minimal compared to how many people live in china but when only 2000 people are surviving from 12000... thats sad.. imagine your beautiful perfect world shaking to the ground on top of you...

Myanmar is in Burma, where the cyclone and the huge amount of deaths happened. This thread, however, is about the earthquake(s) in China. Different things completely.

What the **** are you talking about you idiotic prick, thousands are dead, and you're not concerned because it's not happening near you? Maybe you should keep your selfish ideals to yourself.

Who cares what happens to asians?

No really. Do you?

This stuff gets less air time here than the prince's wedding WHICH IS IN 3 FOCKING MONTHS.
Nobody cares about what happens of natural disasters over there.

No, no, you came off as a VERY ignorant asshole.

It's really sad to see over 10,000 out of 12,000 people in one town die, regardless where, who, or when.

yes, i do care about them. i may have never met them but they are humans man. they feel the same way we do, just cause their asian doesn't make them less than us..it blows my mind seeing how many selfless pricks there are, with no sense of empathy. i guess it would take 80% of your town dieing for you to give a ****.

...I work 12 hours shifts for one week, come back to a week off and there are eathquakes and cyclones?!

How did I end up so much out of the loop?!

most of the public in the western world just view Asia as third world and primitive (plus they are so detached and foreign to us) so they view the people as subhuman and therefore don't care. sad, but true. and most of the products that say "made in china" were actually made by american manufacturers/companies who only establish themselves in China for the dirt cheap chinese labor. if some of those manufacturers would move back to america, they could potentially end the unemployment/welfare-leeches rate.

this percentage of devastation must also be pretty embarrassing for the Chinese. i mean, they keep declaring themselves as an up and coming competitor trying to rival the US, then a tragedy like this comes up, and you see that they really aren't so well off. i am of course referring to the poor infrastructure and lack of rescue/medical care.

My mind is going. I can feel it.

Yeah, I heard about it, but what can I do? I heard about it when it first happened, but it just keeps getting worse and worse.

I can only send my condolences to them...
