Hey , ive got a band practice coming up and my bassist has amp has died and im wondering if he'll be able 2 just play through one of my guitar amps ? or will that just break the amp ? please help thnx

It'll break it.

Long term anyway. If you're playing for say a full 2 hour practice then you could well permanently damage your amp.

You could risk it if you wish but use a cheap amp you don't care about so that if it blows it isn't too much of a loss. Also if you're gonna do that play in short bursts and then let the amp rest. Don't go trying to play "Black Rose Immortal" or something.

Yea it will, my ass hole bass player a year back would plug into my Vox VR15 at rehearsals and just crank it. I ruined it a bit too, but I don't recommend it

Then it'd probably be ok but it's a bit of a permanent fix for a temporary problem.

Actually, a bass signal cannot damage electronincs. It might not sound good, but it won't damamge anything.

Guitar speakers cannot handle bass frequencies though, and that is where the damage happens.

Maybe you could plug the bass into the amp, and then use some external speakers; like a PA or something. It might work.
