what scale/mode does he use to get that feel? specifically in the tornado of souls solo. the back ground chords are just b, g, e, f#,a,b see below. thanks

It's mostly B Natural Minor with some B Dorian over the E chord. He uses unusual phrasing not found in many rock/metal songs. it is almost completely devoid of any blues phrasing which leads to its interesting sound.
