not exactly sure what song...but i know thats a riff on one of them on the new record.

Yah that is pretty close to a A7X riff. If you didn't do it on purpose, then maybe you should just alter it a bit. The open D with ascending notes in key is very common in metal and metalcore, so it isn't unlikely that it could be similar. That being said the riff itself isn't ground breaking but it's pretty well played. I really like the part after the main riff, solid part. This would kick teeth with some face ripping vocals. The breakdown is also nothing terribly original but it fits the song and works. Your tremolo picking is pretty good, too.

Pretty good, if it is in fact a A7X riff, you'll have to change it, but there are some solid parts in there.
