Ok so occasionally when recording i lay down the riff. Then at a slightly lower volume i lay down the same riff expect instead of actually fretting the notes i just put my finger over the fret. But I dont lift it so a harmonic sounds instead i just keep my finger there so a little metallic "Dtt" sounds. I think this gives the riff more of a pronounced feel. Has anyone ever tried this odd technique? What do you think of it?

I've never tried that, but you have gotten me interested on how it sounds. I think next time I do some recording, I'll try it. It seems like a cool idea.

Making it seem every fingered note is hammered on...interesting. I'd like to hear the final results.
