My School is having this paper airplane thing, and whoever get longest distance/flight time, accuracy, ect. gets their name up on the wall. So, being the resourceful being that i am, went to this site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkWI312BZZ0

and it looks like it flies well, but how the heck does he throw it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

and also, if you have a better design, which you believe will help me with these goals, mind posting how to make them?

Thanks,

Is it paper only?

If not and you're allowed to use some more materials, get some cardboard, or stick with paper. make your average dart. put a paper clip in the nose, and fire it with an elastic band

I think that he has some one attach fishing line to it and they are crawling along the ceiling like a midevil spiderman. Either that or a wizard like in the Alltell wireless commercial comes to levitate it.

Try one type called the Nakamura lock. Its fairly simply if you can get the folds right. I've managed to get a pretty good amount of air time on a first attempt with a few messed up folds.
Here's a link detailing how to make one

The word derives from the Greek αέρας (aéras-) ("air") and -plane.[1] The spelling "aeroplane" is the older of the two, dating back to the mid-late 19th century.

aer·o·plane (âr'ə-plān') pronunciation
n. Chiefly British.

Variant of airplane.
