Ok, so on part of the tab for Purple Haze, near the intro of the solo, there is a little riff that looks like this:

My question is how do you play the small part in red? You can't hammer on to 18 if your already fretting 18? Could this just be a typo?

I'm not sure but I think you might hammer on to the fret as if you were tapping. But I don't remember anything like that, just listen to the song if there isn't anything like that then disregard it. I don't like to follow tabs exactly just for an idea of how the song works. Anyway good luck.
