Hello fellow progressive lovers. This thread is a compilation list of progressive bands for reference or if you're looking for a new band(s) to listen to. Feel free to post bands that you feel should be added to the list. I will update it when I get the time to, so if I don't add it right away, be patient . Also if you feel that a band shouldn't be on the list, mention it in a post. If at least 3 people agree then it will be removed. That being said...

They have tons of good songs the list was just getting to long, .

I don't mean to be awkward but would it not be a heck of a lot easier to just use the Prog Archives?
It's a fantastic website and I think you'll find most decent stuff is on there.

Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable?

That's when you know you found somebody special. When you can just shut the f*ck up for a minute, and comfortably share silence.

It kinda ruins the purpose of the thread, the users compiling their own list and all...

It's okay, the quote about Wakeman in your sig more than makes up for it.

I take it you hit the link and read the article then? The Onion is brilliant and random.

but it's not exactly a recommendations thread, it's just a list of prog bands and that site serves the same purpose.

now if people were suggesting albums or particular songs for all of the bands then it'd be a rec. thread. as it is now it serves no purpose anyway.

Yeah. people, like Lemoninfluence, are hypocrites and should have all their opinions invalidated from here on out.

^ Exactly. You're just trying to collect together as many bands as you can think of and then get people to question whether they should be included, whereas the Prog Archives have already got hundreds of entries, rated albums, and have grouped them into more detailed categories.

Who cares don't start a forum fight and just let it be. Also definitely add coheed and cambria cause I see they're still not on there and they are most certainly prog rock. Put some SAGA on there too cause they're an awesome Canadian prog band, the number twelve looks like you, I wanna say Ambrosia but the only really prog album is Somewhere I've Never Travelled but you can decide and also throw Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group on there. Oh yes and not to forget Renaissance the band. Dragonforce as well.Thats about it.
