I've been playing guitar for a couple months and I've decided that I needed some pedals, but I have no idea where to start! Any suggestions?

If it helps any, i have a Squire Stratocaster, and a Roland Cube 20x amp.

Don't know kind of music you play, but I use Boss pedals. They're built like ****ing tanks. Not over-priced, either.

Ok, I'll check those out. Anything along the lines of specific music genres?

i say a delay pedal is a must, invest in a good one. Modulation is tricky you have to play them yourselve and find out if you like em. Other than that a EQ pedal would be great aswell.
try to get a delay first and then get an EQ, or get both.

You want to look at simple essentials first up like an overdrive. There are a plethora of overdrives available.

Next look at a delay and a modulation effect like a phaser.
