So, my top is raised hiiigh. There's a JLD Bridge Doctor sitting in it as we speak, but all it's done is leveled the bridge on top of the "hill", which is still there. Is there anything I can put inside to pull the top back down, making it totally flat?

I've got an absolute last ditch plan ready, just in case. But I just thought I'd ask for alternatives first

i'm no expert with the bridge doctor systems as i've never had one... but wouldn't this be fixed by adjusting the bridge doctor?

im not too sure myself either, but i dont believe you can pull the wood back down. the wood has already expanded and raised, so to pull it back down might make it crack. or at least... that's my speculation anyway.

has the top stopped raising? i thought the purpose of the bridge doctor was just to keep the wood in place from any more raising.

No... I said I tried my bridge doctor but all it did was level the bridge. The pull-up is still there. There's nothing in the bridge doctor to pull it downwards.

Oh well... I'll sort it out I'm sure.

I believe he means that the bridge is sagging, pulling forwards with the strings. The bowing may be taken care of, but the bridge is still pulling forward. Either live with it or take it to an extremely seasoned luthier. You're essentially talking about open-heart, and this particular problem doesn't have many solutions. MIMF might be able to help you more.
Sincerely, Chad.

The bridge isn't pulling forward - what I mean is the top is raising from the soundhole backwards, "topped off" by the bridge. It's being pulled upwards. I'll sort it out someday
