Society's doing great. There's a rise of people like PlayMadness. I feel pretty good about the way things are going.

You won't find hardcore these days, you'll only find metalcore or labels of "hardcore."

Hardcore punk - pretty much just a heavier, faster version of punk. Bands like Comeback Kid for instance.

Short, fast, passionate, aggressive songs, generally based on power chords, with heavy bass, frantic drumming, distorted guitars, and often some manner of hardcore shout or screaming. Also, breakdowns, but not necessarily double bass. That's more of a metal/crossover thing.

Stupid random screaming. And probably tight jeans/long hair in your face/vans or other skate shoes.

Fast, heavy, and angry vocals=hardcore.

I hate how whenever you post a metal band, slightly hardcore in the metal forum, they tell you to post in the hardcore thread.

Anyone notice how Pantera has a lot of hardcore elements to their music and they're allowed in the metal forum?

Breakdowns, angry vocals, etc.

I dunno, i'm off topic now..

You are thinking Grind or Grindcore.

My bad, I'm sorry. Hardcore is not my field. :p

Seriously. I still don't understand why they don't consider metalcore to be metal. If I popped a Lamb of God CD in, and asked someone who was't on UG to tell me what genre they were, chances are they'd say metal. If I said, "no, they're metalcore, not metal," their answer would be "what are you smoking? A genre has the word 'metal' in it, and it's not considered metal?"
