Ok, I recently relocated countries and I'm looking to buy a U.S voltage amplifier . I own a Ibanez Iceman ICT700, and I think I am going to buy the Valveking 212. People have said the distortion is not always ballsy enough, which I need because I play thrash such as Metallica/Maiden/Slayer....So, if you think I will need a distortion pedal, what would you suggest? Krank Distortus Maximus is looking pretty fine to me.

Uh dude, do not get MM. The midrange on that thing is just ridiculously high and the boost function does almost nothing. Try it before you buy it.

Oh yea, Valveking 212 is totally not worth it.

The Metal Muff is great actually, since you're thinking of getting a Valveking, I'd lean more towards the OD pedal, since they're designed for pushing tubes to higher gain levels. Not to mention the sweet blues tones you'll be able to get.

If you're using a tube amp you don't want a distortion pedal, you want an overdrive like the previously mentioned Tube Screamer...

Not to mention the Overdrive is an ibanez, so it must be good. I guess I'll go with the tube screamer then.

ts9 is a safe bet

the bbe green screamer has a bit of bite to it. a lot of people tend to prefer it over the ts9 for that reason

get a cheap marshall... my MG15DFX has a button that simulates the sound of one of the expensive tube marshall amps.

you'll still probably want a distortion pedal even with an overdrive one

I love MXR but they aren't too versatile
they are made to do one thing but they do it well

I love randy rhoads distortion and the closest thing to a vintage is the MXR distortion + (they stopped making it)

I hear the wylde distortion is nice and heavier while mantaining a good sound

overdrive alone won't let you sound like slayer but I would definitely get overdrive first maybe a modded one
