I am ISO a new metal guitar. Things I would prefer is
-24 frets
-Original FR
-Good metal pickups (don't HAVE to be EMGs)

My budget is $1000-$1500. I would prefer not to spend more since I am a starving college student .

In a previous thread, many people recommended the Schecter Blackjack ect. I noticed this is a new guitar, so was unable to find many reviews on it, and don't know much about those Blackout pickups.

Also I would like a guitar that can be found in a local store, rather than bought off the internet (i.e. Tokai).

Thanks!

edit: My Fat Strat just ain't cutting it anymore. I can get it br00tal as fvck, but it's still my "classic rock" guitar. The pickups are seriously lacking too...still sounds great though

Blackouts are basically EMG 606's with all the problems solved.

All right thanks. I'll check out that ESP and the Schecter C-1 Hellraiser FR. Definitely got my eye on that one.

I've narrowed it down to something in the Ibanez Prestige RG series, or a Jackson Soloist.
