He knows smoke on the water.... and umm... thats it.

Heres what i plan on showing him

Some chords so he can make a few songs for himself. Palm muting. Show him what all the little dials on his amp do.

What else?

Also can someone suggest a song that is VERY VERY easy?

I was thinking about sunshine of your love.

Show him a couple of warm-up/technical exercises to get him using all his fingers, and mission impossible is the first song I was taught, and what I always teach first, followed by Back In Black, and some cheesy things like The Animals Came In Two By Two or Happy Birthday. Teach him how to tune his guitar, with and without a tuner. Obviously not all in the same lesson though.

It was the first song I learned and my favourite song to this day, its an anthem to me

I agree with this, give him a fair bit of variety so boredom doesn't set in early lol

Well i will only see him a few times. Maybe just this once. anyway

Some warm ups

E----------------------------------1234-----|
B-----------------------------1234----------|
G-----------------------1234----------------|
D---------------1234------------------------|
A---------1234------------------------------|
E--1234-------------------------------------|

Then move it up a fret.

A song (Still deciding)

chords

and then i will print of a few scale shapes that he can do and some tabs.

How does that sound for a half hour lesson?
