I used to hate pickguard, but they've grown on me. Plus they do serve a purpose... a very noticeable one after several years.

IMO = in my opinion

i dont think you really need a pickgaurd unless you somehow miss the strngs alot OR more importantly if your using a firm or non finish protected pick (ie metal, picks thicker then 1.5 , tortise, and stone)

IMO = In my opinion

EDIT: never mind. beaten

^ It's not about missing the strings, but if you strum a lot of chords you usually follow through onto the face of the guitar.

pickguard... i own a PRS Se singlecut without one... and i want one so bad... id say its an aquired taste...

For that one, I say with. It varies from guitar to guitar, even different LPs.
#13
that's an interesting guitar you have

I like it WITH the pickguard. for some reason I have a partial preference for pickguards on LPs.
#14
I always thought LP style guitars looked a lot better with a pickguard.

it looks plain without a pick guard but THAT pic guard looks a little ugly imo.

I like my LPs with a pickguard.. looks classier, IMO.

I also like my LPs with a bridge, btw... I'd worry more about that one
