i have just bought a boss odb-3. whenever it is on, there is a very loud hissing noise. you cannot hear it when playing, but when it is on and there is no signal going through it, it is def there.

i have played with the settings and i cannot get rid of the hiss.

is this normal?

probably normal. overdrives boost the signal, so any normally quiet hiss will be more prominent
Get off this damn forum and play your damn guitar.

haven't you noticed that on your DS-2 as well? Seems to me that distortions buzz and overdrives hiss, and yes, it is normal
