I think this is the right forum. When I play at certain frets, there seems to be another note ringing out while I play it, and it doesn't sound good at all. I have an MP3 example of this on my profile (the one titled "Problem?") where I'm playing at the 12th fret of the G-string. The weird part is that it only does that when I use certain tones on my guitarport software, and it doesn't do it at all when I use my real life equipment. Help please?

My friends guitar makes that same noise, the frets on the guitar had lifted because its a cheap guitar. Check your frets?

Might be fretbuzz?

Try to mute all other strings after you picked that note again. If it was any other strings ringing then you might have a loose saddle or something.

I don't think they're lifted. This guitar isn't that cheap, either.

What kind of guitar is it?

Nope. Good guess, though.

could be "stratitis"

try lowering your pickups a little perhaps - see if it makes a difference.

Still nothing. Thanks for your help, though.
