so im putting emg's with a booster switch in a guitar, both of which need a battery to run. so my question is do i need to route for a single battery or for a dual battery since the booster switch uses the battery to,

I think you only would have to route one compartment but you could route two just in case you decide to do the 18v mod.

I believe you only need one battery if you wire it up in parallel. EMG's site has some nice diagrams to help you along.
