A friend of mine's bass doesn't work. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but he told me that all the solders are ok, and the wiring is correct.

Any ideas what it could be. He bought the bass second hand, but it worked when he got it.

the plug-in on the cord might be bent a little.
the amp might not be on.
the cord may have a failed connection.
has he tried a different amp or cord?

nmv, it was the input jack. the part that connects the cord was bent back so they didn't make contact
