Hey UG,

I only play guitar through my amp and at the moment I have a Traynor Bass Mate 25. Even though I play regular guitar, not bass, I kept this amp from when I had a bass guitar. I'd like to get a new amp cause this thing isn't the best, obviously. I'd like to spend no more than $250 on an amp and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions. I'm going to start playing small gigs in the near future hopefully so I don't need too much power. I usually just play in my bedroom, so I'd need an amp that sounds good really quiet. The amp doesn't need built-in distortion, I got a pedal.
I like older metal (Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Dio, Motley Crue,) Classic Rock (Led Zeppelin, AC/DC,) and 80s stuff like Guns N' Roses.
Thanks guys!

the crate is a good option, even if you dont like it

try a valve jr(the half stack version, the combo isnt loud and doesnt have enough low end) or a blackheart combo (wich is the biggest in the 5w category.

if you dont want tubes, the vox valvetronix or roland cube (not the 15)
