We all had that one person we always wondered about, the big “what if”. This is my song about that. I hope you like it.

Let Go

Smell of cheap perfume
On a high school date
Lingers for life
Like my first mistake

Full of confidence
Not knowing what to do
Used my chances up
Taking chances with you

Inexperienced
With something like passion
Misplaced words
I was told this would happen

Life crept on
Till I was no longer young
Chasing that feeling
Till I just couldn’t run
Holding back forever
With my finger in the dam
Flooded with thoughts
That I still don’t understand

Looking over my shoulder to see what’s real
Stumbling over every emotion I feel
With so many things I still don’t know
I feel its time to let go

(Chorus)
Let go…let go…let go…no,no,no.

Let the memories slip away
Till there’s no more yesterday
Let her go it was all a show
It all belongs to history so…let go.

Bathing in the dreams
Of us baked and laughing
And how my life would be
If we had ever happened

You’re the only one
Who ever smelled that way
After all these years
It never seems to fade

Haunting my needs
Like a park ridden addict
Delusions of the past
Feeding my habit

Life crept on
Till I was no longer young
Chasing that feeling
Till I just couldn’t run
Holding back forever
With my finger in the dam
Flooded with thoughts
That I still don’t understand

Looking over my shoulder to see what’s real
Stumbling over every emotion I feel
With so many things I still don’t know
I feel its time to let go

(Chorus)
Let go…let go…let go…no,no,no,no.

Let the memories slip away
Till there’s no more yesterday
Let her go it was all a show
It all belongs to history so…let go

Wow...I dont realy see a anything to crit here, it's realy good, The wrighting style seems to fit in with kind of a screamo direction...but whatever way you take it, it'll be great....unless its meant to be country in which case it would suck.

Life is too short to worry about this crap.

Who.

Cares.

Not country! The verse is more spoken with the beat than really sung. The chorus is kind of mellow but edgy. Thanks for the crit. Do you have any for me to crit?
