i know about the epiphone's, but everyone in my area seems to have one.
what about hte PRS that looks like a les pauL?

Just about every Schecter is good. And unless they upped the price again, the Gibson SG Faded Special is great.

epiphone g-400s are one of the best imo. you can get them down to like 250ish...I dont know of any better guitar at that price...

Look at Schecters, ESP, maybe an Ibanez. Solid body guitars with double humbuckers would be what you want.

Ah, I dont lsiten that kind of music, but from what I've seen a lot of "emo" bands use les pauls and ES 355's.

And Epiphones aren't bad guitars, very close to Gibson in my opinion.

i use to own a Gibson SG Standard and checked out the Epi SGs, they are different but not 3-4 times as good.

I'd be hesitant to call an Epiphone LP "really good."

Do yourself a favor and check out some Michael Kelly Patriots.

Far better guitars for less money.
