Alright, so a week a go or so I decided to change the strings on my Jackson, since they were like 7 months old. As I am cluesless about changing strings with a Floyd Rose, I asked my dad who had a bit more experience. He proceeded to change the strings.

I've been noticing every time I play the Jackson that it's very hard to play on, the action was pretty high. I realized it was because he left the bridge up (I don't know what the term is, but imagine pushing down on your whammy and leaving it there). Not only is the guitar pretty unplayable, but if I push the whammy as far down as possible, it only lowers a full step.

How might I fix this? I'd prefer to keep the current set of strings intact.

I don't know how to fix it...but I have for future reference...
This ends now, eat the goddamn beans!

um actually, your supposed to tighten the screws, not loosen them as jean said.

tighten the trem claws until the bridge is about even, then retune, and repeat. tuning a FR is a pain, but once you got it, its good for ages.

My bridge has been raised for weeks now too. Is it bad to leave it like this?

And which screws should I tighten? There are like 6 screws in the are of the springs.

It can cause some damage to your knife edges. You best fix it as soon as possible or you may regret it later.
