Well Im screwed.

Half my phone calls are to do with drugs and bombs. Isnt chemistry fun... Its all me and my mates talk about.

"Diz."
"Yea"
"How do you make TNT and C4 again."
"*Explains whole process*"
"Cheers thanks."
*Knock on door*
*Jailed*

Doesnt seem fair. They can take anything I say and twist it to make me sound like a threat to "national security."

Bad idea. It can be easily mis used... Dont like it...
Sat in a lab, curing diseases. They actually LET me play with chemicals!

Oh god, that opens up such possibilities.

How about just send a ship at the speed up light directly to the sun, and the gravity will pull it towards the sun, thus speeding it over the speed of light.

Actually, now I think about it, they'll probably just lose all the info in the internal mail.

I'm not actually clear what's happening because the article was quite ambiguous. Are they saying they will have the right to tap all phone lines or an electronic gizmo that somehow records information. Either way, I think it's a drastic invasion of privacy and human rights and I really don't think it's going to happen, especially if BBC says it will. If half the stuff BBC publicise and genralise actually happened, then the world would be dead 100 times over by now.

I think they're just thinking about putting it through parliament, it's only at a very early stage.

Sounds really lame, like a total fail. Governments still act like they're highschool faculty.
#16
It's going to be very expensive...

I assume it means they're going to keep the contents of the calls?

That will be a massive waste of space. It will be full of

"Hey, chris"
"...yeah"
"wanna go to le cinematique?"
"yeah k"
"I'll bring some gurlz"
"k lol"
"7?"
"yeah, 7"
"see you"

Ministers are to consider plans for a database of electronic information holding details of every phone call and e-mail sent in the UK, it has emerged.
Sound far fetched to me. Every call and every e-mail? How do you hold all that data? How do you organize a database like that so it makes any sense? How much does it cost to store all that?

Lmfao.
They tried passing something similar in the States once.
Wouldn't really expect something like that to come out of the UK but oh well.
Something that ridiculous won't get passed.
I mean here in America apparently the government taps phone lines, but who are you going to catch out of millions of people? Some eight year old boy playing a joke with his friend?
Pathetic. They try winning us over with that BS by saying it is for our safety.

As its impossible to listen to all the calls as there isn't enough time, a sentinal is likely to be used, as in every call with the word "bomb", "rape", "ultimate-guitar" would be marked and listened too.

This won't happen. I can't see them listening in to every conversation around Britain. It would be totally unpractical. I could maybe understand if they listened in to known criminals or ex cons but even that would cost too much money.
#40
It's way too impractical to be of much use. Not to mention how many thousands of people to will royally piss off.
