I play my acoustic/electric Yamaha APX mostly, but once in a while play my electric too.

I'm looking for a practice amp, and I'm thinking about buying a Roland Cube 20x, but I don't know if it will sound good with the acoustic/electric, and won't have a chance to try it, since I can only buy it online.

Any advice or amp suggestion will be very appreciated.

Try a dedicated acoustic amp, unless the 20x is an acoutis amp. If not, the pre-amp make distort the sound of the acoustic...

Thanks.

The Roland Cube 20x is for electric guitar. I would like the AC-60 Acoustic Amp, but it is way out of my budget, which is around $250.

I have a MicroCube and do occassionally use it for my acoustic/electric.

Doesn't sound TERRIBLE. I put it on the acoustic model, gain about 10 or 11, volume anywhere below twelve, tone a bit below twelve (obviously 20x and 3-band eq) and it gets the job done.

I don't have an acoustic amp so when I need to have an acoustic loud I use the microcube as a "preamp" and then out it into the power amp of my large FM65 Fender... does the job decently.

good luck

Thank you.

Now, if the gain and volume must be below twelve, will it be loud enough as for to play along with the drumkit? It is 20 watts.

Probably for the 20... I keep the gain low because its already an acoustic sound... no need to make an acoustic modeling sound on top of an acoustic.

As for the volume, I only keep it low because the Microcube has a 6" speaker as opposed to the 10" on the 20x and if you turn up the volume on the smaller microcube it gets very treble-y...

i've also played the microcube as a preamp through my 15 watt crate and i've been okay getting over drums, assuming its not a really loud drummer... it's more than enough to jam with a drummer, or gig with a lighter drummer or one that knows not to beat the crap out of their drumset.
