Hi.
I'm 15 years old.
I have been saving up to get a guitar for quite some time by working for neighbors and such. opportunities are rare.

So I have saved up a little more than $450.

I need advice on which guitar to buy.
I am already set with buying a
Roland Micro Cube as my amp.

It will be $125

So I have roughly 325-350 dollars to spend on a guitar.

I was thinking about this.
Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker.

What do you think?
Should I buy a cheaper guitar and get pick-ups for it?

Also. I'm going to be laerning on this guitar.
So I am not worried about it sounding super awesome.

So any input will be appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike.

a good beginer guitar that doesnt cost much is a squire strat. its really cheap but surpriseingly good for the value, and a great guitar to learn on.

Are Ibanez any good?
My friends dad is the western regional sales manager for Ibanez.
He can get me some deals at the local guitar shops.

But I would like honest opinions about good beginner guitars.

Yup i agree with you , thats what i got as my first guitar , i'm still using it lol , until i manage to gather enough cash for a Les Paul ... But yeh Some people hat the squire strats . I love mine , decent tone, looks of a strat , and affordable. I have the fat strat abit different then other , personally i find it sounds better :P

I don't really like the look of the strat though.
My buddy has one and I play it whenever I go over.
I don't really dig it.

okay so now, after going to my local shop
I think I'm pretty set on
either an Epiphone Les Paul
or
the
Gibson Melody Maker.

Yes.
Ibanez makes good guitars.
If your dad's friend can get you a deal on one, you should definitely consider that.
