So the German exchange student staying with me (no pics or surprise sex) managed to get one of those msn viruses. the ones where the other people unknowingly transfer a .zip file. So, how would I go about getting rid of them? I seem to remember completely getting rid of msn and downloading it again.

You will need to go deep into your hard drive and delete every folder containing any MSN cache files... Or do a system restore, that might work. I had this problem before and I managed to get rid of it after some exploration. Good luck.

(You'll lose all your display pictures, custom emoticons, and contact groups, so you'll have to organize them again...)

I got mine from MSN beta. I'd always get file sending requests of "pic.exe"... I never fall for viruses but I got the beta from a decent source, and none of the comments said it was safe. I even scanned the installation file... It really WAS the beta for the new version (lots of great new features!) but it had a virus attached (The one that sends random files to people and you won't notice).
