Garageband if you have Mac OS installed. You can record music using your computer keyboard as notes. It's not great mind.

yes it will literally do what you want, the piano roll is when you enter notes with durations and whatnot on this thing that sort of looks like a sideways keyboard. I can't find a screenshot ATM but you'd figure it out if you saw it.
