Does it work? I love the work of the likes of Malmsteen and was wondering if you can do similar for the bass? Would it just be a case of looking at guitar method and applying it to the bass?

So how do you adapt it exactly, is it just learning the difference in scales?

Well, for example, I ran into problems when trying to play stuff when those six string sweeps kick in, as they do in neoclassical, so I remedied this by using a two handed tapping run across the strings, using the fretting hand to tap out the notes at the frets closer to the nut, and the picking hand to tap out the notes closer to the bridge, with the little finger on the picking hand hitting the highest note and pulling off to the note below.

I know that isn't explained well, but a simple example of what I mean is when you arppegiate chords- play the following:

9
11
11
9

but instead, tap the 9s with your fretting hand, and the 11s with your picking hand. And when you tap that top 11, tap the 14th fret on the G string with your picking pinkie, and descend down again. The key is technique, and getting good at muting, as you want to pull off every note, but not get that open string sound, so it sounds like a clean sweep. You can add other notes within that to get a proper sweep sounding lick in, like on the E, tap the 9th fret with your fretting hand, and tap the 12th fret with your picking hand, etc. I hope that made sense, lol.

I'm currently working on a version of Gymnopedie No.1 by Erik Satie for six string bass. It's turning out nice. .

It's more Neoimpressionism/Neosurrealism/Neofurniture-music, but whatever.

I transcribed the first part of Canon Rock for bass, it's just a straight instrument to instrument conversion, what do you guys think?

That sounds interesting. Satie was insane, in the best way possible.

Dunno what it is with me and tabs, but I always do that, the tabbing is actually correct, but the string labels aren't, lemme fix it
