hi im looking at distortion pedals and am wondering the difference you get from a

Boss SD-1 SUPER OverDrive http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Boss-SUPER-OverDrive-SD1-Pedal?sku=151339

and a

Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal

I play pretty much all kinds of rock and am wondering if $10 difference is worth it.

personally i think boss ds-1's are horrible, as well as all boss pedals.

what amp and guitar do you have?

we'll start from there

07 Fender American Deluxe Strat
07 Fender Custom Telecaster
09 Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster
09 Fulltone OCD V.4
10 Ibanez WH-10 V.2
09 Splawn SuperStock
10 Jet City JCA-20
97 Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

Yeh the SICK! bit sounds a bit stupid.

Ds-1 is what Kurt Cobain used on the Nevermind album, so if you want that "Smells like Teen Spirit" sound, get that otherwise, go to a guitar shop and try out a whole bunch, i personally dont use distortion pedals
