I recently started listening to Led Zeppelin and saw lots of similarities of songs I've heard before

But the most obvious one being the song 'Me Love' by Sean Kingston

I doubt he hid that fact though

Anyway I find it cool to see some of the songs that came out ages ago, are still out there today even if people don't realise it.

I must sound like such a noob but whatever...
I only just got into Led Zeppelin so excuse my lack of LP knowledge...

Post other songs that have been inspired by the past...
Just shows good music lasts forever...
but Sean Kingston still sucks...*obviously

He sampled it didn't he? Just like he did with stand by me.

Yeah, but there's a difference between sampling and ripping off IMO. When sampling you use a short bit in a creative way. Sean Kingston simply copied an entire song.

I see, well it's not like he stole it anyaway. He most likely had Led Zeppelins agreement, and they are probably making big money from the royalties.

Yeh I noticed this, I showed D'yer Maker to my sister (who really likes Sean Kingston) and she was like "OMG they stole Sean Kingston's song"

Facepalm anyone?

It's interesting that a Jamacian (sp?) guy has to sample an english rock band to write something almost resembling a reggae song.

Not really. If she didn't know Led Zep stole the song off of someone else first, she didn't know.

to be fair, Led Zep are one of the worst bands for ripping people off, they did it so much in their early days without crediting the original artists, I love them, they are a great band but they are also pretty slack
pink floyd are better than you

Sean Kingston is what's wrong with the world

he's just a fat guy who likes to sing, he's not hurting anybody.

ripping off in the hip hop/rap/rnb world shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. It's been going on for over a decade.

He was born in Miami, but raised in Jamaica. So yeah, being raised in Jamaica for most of his life, to me, makes him Jamaican-American.

To further this point, I'm part Welsh, but you don't see me going around calling people "boyo."

John Barrowman is Scottish, but he talks with an American accent.

Accent means nothing.
